Going through the riverland area on our way from Loxton to Pt Augusta this morning,we saw lots of orchards in blossom - almonds we think...looked really beautiful.
On the road between Waikerie and Burra, Dad tried to find some new knickers for me and some runners for himself...there are 2 rather special trees ...one decorated with shoes and the other with undies of all types and colours!!
We came to Pt Augusta via Crystal Brook this time - a really lovely little town and a pretty drive through vast areas of cropping..they have had wonderful rain too.
Went straight to the Arid Lands Botanical Gardens for a coffee and our walk - I wanted a good bird sighting and a good flower find, as a treat for my birthday...luckily we had both! Wonderful views of a white winged wren and lots of yellow paper daises.
The Eremophilas (emu bushes) were just magnificent in the gardens - so many colours and differnt types.
Also the range of wattles was amazing.. a beautiful A. pycnantha ..(Australia's national flower emblem) it has a white trunk which we've never seen before.
Now we're having a wine then off to try the pub for dinner, on Sue's recommendation. TYVM for your texts etc. I've had a great day!
